Guatemala had been champion the last two editions, but now it was Mora / López's time to return to the throne after winning in Honduras in 2015.

In the semifinal Mora / Lopez they beat 2-0 (21-16, 21-19) Richard Smith / Bryan Monge, of Costa Rica 1, while in the other semifinal, Lezcano / Valenciano took their claw and put the heart to keep the 2-1 victory (17-21, 24-22, 16-14) against Nicaraguan battlers Gerson Contreras / Denis López

Mora / Lopez in the group stage also beat Lezcano / Valenciano and in the final they maintained their dominance thanks to the good defense of Lopez and the blocking of Mora before the attack of the youth Lezcano, which is projected as a promise in the area.

In the match for third place, Smith / Monge beat Contreras / López with a double 21-19.

Last year, Guatemala's Andy Leonardo / Luis García won their second title by defeating Nicaraguans Gerald Umaña and Denis López, the latter coming from being the Central American U21 champion in Puerto Cortés, Honduras. Mora / López were third in 2017.
