The course will be under the direction of Guillermo Paredes,
president of the FIVB Refereeing Commission, and José Ramón Pérez
Vento and Gy Bradbury, president and secretary, respectively, of
NORCECA Refereeing Commission.
NORCECA Confederation is supporting the course with the
fundamental goal of giving its referees the opportunity to update
knowledge and getting familiar with the latest changes in the rules
of the game as well as the use of new technology, said Nelson
Ramírez, director of the center.
The organizer has also invited Dr. Victor Figueroa and
psychologist Mirtha de Figueroa to address the participants on the
medical aspects and preparation and behavior of the referees
before, during and after the matches. Dr. Figueroa is a member of
FIVB Medical Commission.
Marcos Kwiek, coach of the Dominican Republic's Women National
Team, will take a turn to present of the criteria about refereeing
from a coaches' view.
Finally, Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, president of NORCECA will
discuss the developmet plans of the FIVB and NORCECA as well as the
plans of FIVB regarding global refereeing.
