International Seminar for Setters opened on Monday in this city of
the State of Mexico supervised by the NORCECA/FIVB Regional
Volleyball Development Center in Dominican Republic.
CUAUTITLAN, México, May 2, 2016 - An
International Seminar for Setters opened on Monday in this city of
the State of Mexico supervised by the NORCECA/FIVB Regional
Volleyball Development Center in Dominican Republic.
Twenty-four coaches hailing from
different volleyball associations of Mexico are taking part in the
seminar under the direction of FIVB Instructor Juan Cartagena with
the coordination of Ramon Gomez, president of the coaches'
commission of the Mexican Volleyball Federation.
The opening ceremony of the seminar
was held at the Cuautitlan High School where the theoretical
classes are taking place, chaired by Mr. Juan Galaviz Moran,
president of the Volleyball Association of the State of Mexico
representing Mr. Jesus Perales, president of the National
Federation.
Also in attendance were Mr. Carlos
Saldívar, former president of the Municipality of Cuautitlan, and
Ms. Lisandra Ramirez who is representing the Regional Development
Center.
Mr. Galaviz Moran expressed gratitude
to the presidency of the Mexican Federation for the opportunity to
host the seminar and said this is the first of many courses the
local association is willing to organize for the benefit of the
Mexican coaches of volleyball.
Meanwhile, Cartagena underlined the
importance of a Setter Seminar stating that "a good setter is the
fundamental base of a volleyball team and I hope the seminar can be
a successful one and the coaches will be able to transmit their
experiences to their athletes."
