TIJUANA, Mexico, December 2, 2016 - The activities of the International Technical Seminar for Liberos began officially at the FIVB Norceca Regional Development Centre in Baja California, Mexico.

TIJUANA, Mexico, December 2, 2016 - The activities of the International Technical Seminar for Liberos began officially at the FIVB Norceca Regional Development Centre in Baja California, Mexico.

The theoretical and practical sessions started at the Multisports Building of the Baja California High Performance Centre, where Cuban instructor Ruben Sainz Rodriguez and Norceca authorities participated in the opening ceremony.

On behalf of the Norceca Confederation President and FIVB First Executive Vice President, Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, as well as the General Director of the Development Centre and head of the Baja California Sports Institute, the Development Centre Operations Director, Alberto Arreola delivered a special message.

"The position of Libero has made a revolution in the game and it has become more spectacular. Many of you have enough experience when taking several seminars and also as coaches in your teams, so we hope you can get the best of this course," Arreola stated who was accompanied by Jacqueline Montes, who is in charge of the training programs at the centre.

"This is a two way seminar. It is not only my role to expose and present the information. Feedback is very important as well as the exchange of opinions and experiences from your side," Sainz, who also made the official opening declaration, expressed.

Ruben Sainz Rodriguez was born in Cuba and is specialized in Volleyball with a Bachellor in Physical Culture and Sports. He is also certified as Level 2 Instructor and has a vast experience of more tan 30 years. He also has mastered in Sports Training Theory and Methodology.

Once a National Teams coach of Guatemala, where he resides, has also taken courses in Sports Management sponsored by the Olympic Solidarity Fund and the Guatemalan Olympic Committee.

In his native land, Cuba, worked as Volleyball High Performance coach for 20 years and since 2005 has served as International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Instructor with very remarkable results in Latin American countries.
