Sawula and Thomas supervise Volleyball Seminar

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica, December 21, 2015 - Physical Education teachers and volleyball coaches from all over Costa Rica benefitted of the two-week visit of Canadian coaches Lorne Sawula and Tammy Thomas, who shared their knowledge and experience in volleyball and beach volleyball as well as prevention of injuries.

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica, December 21, 2015 - Physical Education teachers and volleyball coaches from all over Costa Rica benefitted of the two-week visit of Canadian coaches Lorne Sawula and Tammy Thomas, who shared their knowledge and experience in volleyball and beach volleyball as well as prevention of injuries.

A total of 53 participants gathered at the Costa Rican Tennis Club during the first week of theoretical sessions with the following week centered in practices of volleyball basics at Vizquez Plaza. Doctor Sawula then traveled to the province of Limon to lecture three clinics.

The following days, the Guanacaste region, at Abangares, and Liberia also had the visits of Sawula, to complete a total of 900 kilometers of the Caribbean zone and the northern regions of Costa Rica.

Thomas covered the Pacific region, visiting the southern of Puntarenas at beautiful Manuel Antonio Beach at Quepos, followed by the district of Cobano at Tambor Beach.

The Canadian instructor said to be highly motivated to return. "I found a talented group that can become valuable assets for the Federation".

Following this seminar, which was possible with collaboration of the Costa Rican Sports Institute (ICODER) and the Public Ministry, the Costa Rican Volleyball Federation will conclude this year's activities with clinics at grass root level as preparation for 2016, in which coaches Gerardo Esquivel and Alfredo Segú will contribute scouting new talents.
