Level I Coaches Course begins in Aruba (1)

ORANJESTAD, Aruba, June 9, 2014 - An International Level I Coaches Course opened at the Sport Center Frans Figueroa in Aruba on Monday.

During the opening Ceremony Mrs. Filomena Daniel Curiel, President of the Aruba Volleyball Federation underlined the importance of the coaches' development so they can train youth players and children who are the foundation for the new generations of volleyball.

Also Mrs. Susan Gozanksy, instructor of the course who also was directing the last Level 1 Coaches Course celebrated in Aruba more than 15 years ago, motivated the participants to continue educating themselves and developing Volleyball in Aruba, by sharing their experience and knowledge and also to maintain the correct behaviour to be an example as a coach.

Twenty participants registered in the course - 18 locals and the other two from Brazil and French St. Martin.

On behalf of the Volleyball Regional Development Center in Dominican Republic, Mrs. Yohanna Mota, congratulated the Aruban National Federation for the great organization and the effort they are making so the local participants have more opportunity to be trained not only as coach but also as professionals of high level in Volleyball.

The course include topics such as Mini Volleyball, the role of the coach, statistics systems, as well as conference dictated by Mrs. Allister Mc. Leod, as an International Referee talking about Rules of the Game, while physiotherapist Mr. Frank Velasques, will explain about injury prevention and treatments.

As all level I Coaches Course, the course will count with a theoretical evaluation and practice sessions. At the end the participants will be certified as Level I Coaches.

The course will be concluded on June 19, the organizers said.
