TIJUANA, Mexico, March 19, 2014 - Twenty participants received their certificates   from the FIVB-NORCECA Regional Development Center at the conclusion of the International Technical Seminar for Physical Education Teachers.

The closing ceremony took place on Tuesday at the premises of the center at the Baja California High Performance Center in Tijuana. The Seminar, directed by FIVB Instructor Tony Westman, concluded with a kids' volleyball festival held at the Multipurpose Gym.

Students of the Athletes Junior High School had the chance to practice and play under different massive promotional formats as part of the objective of the seminar.

It was volleyball for beginners and also for kids who practice different sports, such as gymnastics, taekwondo, sports shooting, archery, canoe and kayak, fencing and even basketball and track and field.

"One of the goals we had is to get a bigger spread of volleyball," said Westman. "Our purpose for the kids was to have fun and find an interesting and exciting side of our sport, and also to be active during practice."

Coaches and teachers from the cities of Tijuana, Mexicali, Rosarito and Ensenada had the chance to learn more and improve their knowledge.

"It is important, to share what you've learned during this course and spread the interest in volleyball," Westman said.

The certificates were handed by Westman, Alberto Arreola and Jackeline Montes, who was in charge of the logistics and operations of the seminar that marked the debut of the Development Center located in Mexico.
