SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, March 25, 2014 - The National
Coaches Course organized by the Dominican Republic National
Federation concluded with successful results and significant number
of female participants.
Twenty-seven female applicants, of a total of 107, took part in
the three-day basic course directed by Ariel Sainz with Wilson
Sanchez and Cristian Cruz as assistants.
Ramon Garcia, President of the Dominican Republic Federation,
presented the certificates of participation accompanied by Marcos
Kwiek, coach of the women's national team, and Nelson Ramirez,
Director of the NORCECA/FIVB Regional Development Center.
Kenia Moreta, Juana Gonzalez, Juana Saviñón and Larissa Reyes,
former players of the Dominican team, were among the participants
who took part in the theoretical and practical sessions of the
course that covered 33 hours.
Sainz expressed his satisfaction for the good level of knowledge
exhibited by most of the participants and underlined the importance
of following up their activities as they begin their coaching
career.
Joan Porffirio Sanchez of Samana, Pedro Manuel Paredes of San
Cristobal and Henry Rincón of National District, passed the course
with the highest grades.
Garcia said all the participants are now in conditions to
participate in an international coaching course of level 1 and
continue advancing from there.
The next national coaching course to be organized by the
national federation in collaboration with the Regional Development
Center will be one of beach volleyball on April 11-13 with the
participation of applicants from all the national provinces where
the sport is being practiced, Ramirez said.
