PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti, November 8, 2014 - A VCP Level I Coaching Course sponsored by FIVB and NORCECA Confederation is under way in Torbeck, Les Cayes, located in the southern tip of Haiti, 300 kilometers from the capital Port-au-Prince.  It started on November 4 and will end on November 11.

A total of 33 coaches, from 11 cities of the south of Haiti, are participating in this course which is being taught by FIVB Instructor André Glaive. These coaches work in the School Program of the Haitian Volleyball Federation as well as in clubs.

This is the first ever coaching course held outside of the Haitian capital and it reinforces the National Federation's efforts at decentralization of the game of volleyball.   This initiative was well received by all from the southern region.

The opening ceremony was attended by Margarette Graham and Frederic François, president and vice president, respectively, of the Haitian National Volleyball Federation, as well as Pierre-Felix Mesidor, who is in charge of development of volleyball in the southern region.
