SAN JOSE, Costa Rica, September 21, 2013 - FIVB Instructors
Jorge Perez Vento and Juan Cartagena both express encouraging words
while evaluating the level of interest from the 42 participants in
the Level I Coaches Course being addressed in Costa Rica.
"I am really impressed by their desire to learn and their
willingness to work," Perez Vento said at the end of a session.
"They all look really motivated and their attitude is an
inspiration for us."
The Cuban-born Perez Vento, a former setter of the Cuban Men's
National Team in the 60's and 70's, has had a rich coaching
experience in his native Cuba, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico
and is a talkative individual always willing to discuss about
volleyball.
"I really enjoy talking about volleyball and sharing all my
experience acquired over the years, so these courses offer me the
opportunity to exchange with people and teach them a few things
about the game," he said.
Cartagena, who has been working for NORCECA Confederation as
instructor of the Development Center in Dominican Republic, also
has noticed the positive attitude of the participants.
"It is one of the best courses that I have ever been," the
Puerto Rican Cartagena said. "In the theoretical classes and the
practice sessions they have showed incredible enthusiasm and
dedication."
"The participants deserve all the credit and their proactive
participation has made the sessions more interesting and
entertaining," he added.
The 42 participants in the Coaches course come from Panama,
Guatemala, El Salvador, Chile, Honduras and Costa Rica.
This forms part of the development program of NORCECA
Confederation and its efforts to expand volleyball in all the zones
under its influence.
The Development Center in Dominican Republic is coordinating the
course as it continues to stage courses and seminars in key
geographical areas to offer less expensive costs to potential
participants.
