FIVB instructor Tony Westman is in charge of the seminar and 22 coaches from seven countries -Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico and Nicaragua- are taking part of it.

The activity is coordinated by the FIVB Regional Development Center in Dominican Republic.

The opening ceremony was attended by Alberto Arreola, vice president of the Mexican Volleyball Federation, Octavio Morgan, director of the Baja California High Performance Center, and Yoana Mota, as supervisor from the FIVB Regional Development Center.

The Seminar includes practical and theoretical sessions and forms part of a 12-course program being implemented by the Development Center throughout the year.

Mota praised the quality of the organization of the course saying: "There is a high level of preparation and everything is perfectly coordinated. Here you are prepared to organize any type of events."

This is the second of three technical courses to be held in Mexico in 2012. The first was a data volley seminar in April. The third is a Coaches Course Level I later in the year.

"The idea is to prepare the coaches so they can transmit their knowledge to their national teams and this can be reflected in the results attained by them at the different tournaments," Mota said.
