During the first day of activities at the Norceca Sports
Organizing Commission meeting, this was one of the main premises
considered by its members.
"The development model of Norceca has been an example, not
perfect yet, but there are still some other things to improve, but
is the most efficient and most active in every level, as the FIVB
itself has let us know," said Confederation president Cristobal
Marte Hoffiz.
"President Graça wants us to take this model to some other
places", he added. "So Norceca has a very important
responsibility, one that will allow us to go further, and have a
further approach."
Marte remembered that the execution of many plans have reached
many corners of the region with some assistance in working plans,
promotion of the sport, and also with material resources and
special support.
Now and after the transition that has taken place in the FIVB,
the Norceca President and world volleyball governing body First
Executive Vice President remarked that it will be important to go
on with the strategies established in the North, Central American
and the Caribbean zone in an effort that can make volleyball closer
to remote areas in the world.
"We feel very supported and quiet because of the way we have
worked here in Norceca," Marte added.
"This meeting that we have here in Baja California before the
one of December, we are looking forward to set a goal very well
defined about where we are, where we are going and what we
want."
Prior to FIVB's presidential elections, the "Development is the
name of the game" campaign was adopted as a special support the
nomination of Doctor Graça who succeeded Jizhong Wei as president
of the International Federation after the September congress that
took place un Anaheim, United States.
The beginning of the Sports Organization works in Tijuana, the
commission members analyzed different topics as part of the
agenda.
Some of them were about the points system for ranking and
participation of the different zones of the Norceca region, as well
as costs and proposition of lodging, logistics, gathering and
responsibilities of the host countries in International future
competitions.
Other issues were about the Men's and Women's Continental
Qualification for the 2014 FIVB Senior World Championship and the
new Olympic cycle that will conclude with the Games of Rio
2016.
